Early this Saturday night, Sporting de Braga went to Rio Maior to beat Casa Pia 3-1, in the 15th round of the Primeira Liga, thus returning to triumphs in the competition, after the home defeat against Benfica in the previous round. The four goals of the match only came in the first half, with the Minho team scoring first, allowing for a draw, but then finally going on to win.
After a first half with opportunities for both sides, but with the scoreless score persisting, despite Braga’s greater ascendancy, the second half brought the goals.
The first came with some controversy in the mix, in the 51st minute: relief from the Casapian defense following a Borja corner, Moutinho headed the ball back into the area from outside the area, Ricardo Batista left the goal and in the presence of Niakaté he ended up unable to defend. The move was subject to VAR, to analyze the interference of the Braga defender in the move, ahead of the penultimate opposing defender, but it ended up being validated.
At the start of the final quarter of an hour, however, Casa Pia restored equality. Clayton fell in the area in a duel with Victor Gómez and Tiago Martins pointed to the 11 meter mark. In the transformation of the maximum punishment, the same Clayton tied.
But the equalizer only took three minutes. In the 77th minute, Zalazar sent a free kick into the Casa Pia penalty area and Banza headed the ball to make it 2-1. The triumph would then be confirmed by Zalazar himself, in the 88th minute, in the spectacular conversion of a direct free kick, making the ball go around the outside of the wall and between the post and Ricardo Batista for the final 3-1. .
With this triumph, Sporting de Braga remains in fourth, now with 32 points, two behind Sporting, who are still playing tonight, and FC Porto, and four behind Benfica, the provisional leader. Casa Pia, which was coming off a triumph in Chaves, is 12th, with 16.
